We would like to keep you up to date with any information which we receive from Government in relation to Business Support resources for businesses and employers. The UK Government has set out a package of temporary and targeted measures to businesses through this period of disruption caused by COVID-19.
If you own a shop, café, live music venue, hotel or other visitor accommodation, or a nursery on OFSTEAD’s Early Years Register, you will not need to pay your business rates for the year 2020/21.
For all sectors the Government will pay 80% of the wages, capped at £2500p/month for staff who face being laid off as a result of Covid-19 available through HMRC.
You can reclaim up to 2 weeks statutory sick pay for any employees who are unable to work as result of the virus. If your property has a rateable value of less than £15,000 and you are in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief or tapered relief, you will also be eligible for a £10,000 cash grant. Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, may be eligible for a grant of up to £25,000 to help cover business costs dependant on the rateable value of your property.
You can also apply for a loan of up to £5m backed by the Government interest free for the first 12 months (all major banks are participating)
SME’s can apply for ICT Grant for up to 40% of the costs of enabling home working for staff.
